The Ipheion or spring starflower originates from South America. The flowers of this small plant slightly smell of honey. The light blue flowers have a dark blue vein on each petal. Yellow stamens lie almost hidden in the heart. Ipheion has narrow light green leaves. Planted in the sun or half shade, under shrubs or in rock gardens, in borders or in pots, they will cheer up every spot with their tender beauty. They also keep nematodes away from your roses.
