Allium Moly is a plant most people would not recognize as one of the onion family. It has a short stem and golden yellow flowers clustered in a half globe. This allium originates from the South of France and Spain where it grows between rocks and stones and multiplies to form a ground cover. Moly loves sunshine or partial shade and tolerates all kinds of soil, but it should be well-drained. It forms several stems and rather broad green leaves. This ornamental onion also blossoms in a pot on a balcony and it is perfect for cutting. Moly is a lively addition to any garden. It is long-flowering and attracts bees, bumblebees and butterflies with its yellow gold.
