Fritillaria Early Dream 1 pc.- ORGANIC

€ 5.99

The botanical name of Fritillaria comes from fritillus, Latin for dice shaker. This truly imperial flower bears a crown of leaves from which 12 large orange bell-shaped flowers with dark orange stripes are hanging. The lower half of the stem of this Crown Imperial is covered with narrow pointed leaves. Its nectar attracts bees and butterflies. The impressive bulb has a distinctive opening in the centre and it is said that its scent repels moles. This early blooming flower loves a sunny or partly shady spot and well-drained and well-manured soil. In the 15th century, the Frittilaria was a symbol for wealth, in the 21st century this flower still adds a touch of exotic wealth and glamour to every garden.
