With its gracefully bent down flowers, backwards curled petals, and a hint of oriental mystery, this Erythronium Pagoda echoes the shape of a Buddhist pagoda temple. Straight and slim dark stems bear up to 10 nodding bright yellow flowers each. The opulent leaves are of a spotted green. The centre of the flower is surrounded by a brownish red ring as if painted by an artist. The strong and reliable plant thrives in a well-drained soil. After some years this hardy and resilient plant will naturalize and the clump will expand with more and more flowers. It brings a sunny yellow glow to the garden every spring.
